This year, the Louisville Zoo’s wildest 5K in town — Throo the Zoo presented by Norton Audubon Hospital — will be run virtually only. The Zoo has cancelled this year’s in-person portion in an abundance of caution and following the recommendations of Kentucky Governor Beshear. Find Out More

Due to rain in the forecast the three special animal birthdays will be rescheduled to Saturday, January 25.The Zoo will celebrate gorilla Helen’s 62nd birthday in Gorilla Forest at 10:30 a.m. followed by Asian elephant Punch’s 50th at 11 a.m. at the Elephant exhibit and finally, polar bear Qannik’s 9th birthday at Glacier Run at 11:30 a.m. Find Out More
The Louisville Zoo is happy to host one of the largest Chinese lantern festivals in the nation — Wild Lights: Asian Lantern Festival at the Louisville Zoo opens March 5, 2020 and runs through April 25, 2020. Wild Lights will be our community’s first-ever outdoor Chinese Lantern Festival. Tickets go on sale December 1, 2019. Find Out More
The Louisville Zoo will host a job fair on January 7 in the Zoo’s Gheens Room from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Zoo is seeking candidates to fill seasonal positions in various departments. Free with admission, the Zoo will also celebrate two animal birthdays on January 7. Gorilla Helen’s 59th Birthday will be held at 11 a.m. at Gorilla Forest and polar bear Qannik’s 6th birthday will be held at noon at Glacier Run. Find Out More
Tickets to the Louisville Zoo’s Santa’s Safari are now on sale at www.louisvillezoo.org/santa. This popular annual holiday event will take place December 10–11 & 17–18 with sessions at 10 a.m., Noon and 2 p.m. The Zoo’s Gheens Room in the Islands Pavilion will be transformed into a festive holiday wonderland that will include a visit by Santa, his elves and Frosty the Snowman. For the last 34 years the Louisville Zoo has provided area families with a cheery, not eerie Halloween Party during its “The World’s Largest Halloween Party!” presented by Meijer. This year the Zoo celebrates its 35th year for the popular party on October 1–2, 6–9, 13–16, 20–23 and 27–30.
