The Louisville Zoo is happy to announce that guests can now visit the popular and beloved indoor penguin exhibit again as repairs on the Islands exhibit are now complete. To christen the newly renovated exhibit, the Zoo welcomed an entirely new penguin species: seven African penguins. Find Out More
Louisville, KY – The Louisville Zoo’s 33-year-old African elephant, Mikki, gave birth to a male calf at 11:24 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2019. It is only the second elephant born at the Louisville Zoo in the Zoo’s 50-year history. Find Out More
The Louisville Zoo welcomed a male bongo calf in the early hours of Sunday, May 19. Mother Isabelle, 9, and calf are doing well. Both have joined the other bongos in rotation on exhibit next to giraffe and addax yards. 10-year-old bongo Watson sired the 50 lb. male calf. Find Out More
