The Louisville Zoo is happy to announce that guests can now visit the popular and beloved indoor penguin exhibit again as repairs on the Islands exhibit are now complete. To christen the newly renovated exhibit, the Zoo welcomed an entirely new penguin species: seven African penguins. Find Out More
The Louisville Zoo’s 34-year-old African elephant Mikki gave birth to Fitz, a male calf on Aug. 2. A DNA comparison was recently performed using blood samples from Mikki, Fitz and both possible sires. The result of the DNA test reveals the sire of Fitz is 40-year-old African bull Jackson at the Pittsburgh Zoo. Find Out More
The Louisville Zoo is happy to host one of the largest Chinese lantern festivals in the nation — Wild Lights: Asian Lantern Festival at the Louisville Zoo opens March 5, 2020 and runs through April 25, 2020.
