Zoo Hosts Job Fair and Animal Birthdays

The Louisville Zoo will host a job fair on January 7 in the Zoo’s Gheens Room from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Zoo is seeking candidates to fill seasonal positions in various departments. Free with admission, the Zoo will also celebrate two animal birthdays on January 7. Gorilla Helen’s 59th Birthday will be held at 11 a.m. at Gorilla Forest and polar bear Qannik’s 6th birthday will be held at noon at Glacier Run. Find Out More

Santa’s Safari Now on Sale (Media Release)

Tickets to the Louisville Zoo’s Santa’s Safari are now on sale at www.louisvillezoo.org/santa. This popular annual holiday event will take place December 10–11 & 17–18 with sessions at 10 a.m., Noon and 2 p.m. The Zoo’s Gheens Room in the Islands Pavilion will be transformed into a festive holiday wonderland that will include a visit by Santa, his elves and Frosty the Snowman. For the last 34 years the Louisville Zoo has provided area families with a cheery, not eerie Halloween Party during its “The World’s Largest Halloween Party!” presented by Meijer. This year the Zoo celebrates its 35th year for the popular party on October 1–2, 6–9, 13–16, 20–23 and 27–30.

Throo the Zoo at the Louisville Zoo

The wildest 5K in town will be held Saturday, May 14 at 8 a.m. Runners and walkers will get to see the Zoo wake up during the 23rd annual Throo the Zoo 5K Run/Walk, presented by Norton Audubon Hospital and McDonald’s® Restaurants of Kentuckiana. Proceeds benefit the Louisville Zoo, which is dedicated to its mission of bettering the bond between people and our planet. Find Out More

Louisville Zoo Announces Free Flight Bird Show

Beautiful birds such as an Andean condor, double wattled cassowary, singing parrot, African crowned crane, bateleur eagle and others will make their way to the Louisville Zoo this summer. Starting May 21, these impressive birds will fly, sing and delight Zoo guests in the new “Wings of the World” Bird Show presented by Ford Motor Company. Find Out More

Earth Day Celebration at the Louisville Zoo

Earth Day Festival

The Louisville Zoo will celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 16 with a news conference announcing winners of the 4th annual Trashformation art contest. The day will also feature $8.25 general admission and activities to celebrate sustainability. Patrons can learn more about the Zoo’s conservation efforts and visit dozens of “eco-themed” exhibitors.
