SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT
Department Positions
Animal Department
Zoo Service Assistant — One year of college with a declared major in Biology or closely related field and one year of working with animals in an institutional setting. Assist area animal keepers with duties to help facilitate the occurrence of regularly scheduled animal presentations.
Education
Education Instructor — One year of college seeking a degree in elementary or secondary education, one year of experience working with children in formal or informal teaching setting (school, day camp, zoo, or other cultural attraction) and background knowledge of biology, ecology or related field. Must be able to handle small exotic animals for educational purposes. Must have good communication/ teaching skills. Must be willing to be First Aid/ CPR certified, work a varied part-time schedule
Guest Services
Zoo Service Worker — Set-up, take-down for events, safety & security, janitorial, crowd control, park cleaning, access control, basic computer skills for operating Point of Sale system and general labor. Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
Horticulture
Zoo Aide — grass cutting, mulching, trimming, grounds maintenance. Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
Marketing
Marketing Aide: Works with the marketing department (marketing, public relations and sponsorship) on social media, email advertising, website updates, photography/videography and design as needed. Background, work experience or college credit in any of these fields or is preferred. In addition, experience with Adobe Creative Cloud programs is also a plus. Must be 18 years of age.
Membership, Front Desk & Admissions
Zoo Service Clerk — All areas include basic computer operating skills and guest interaction. Some areas will require experience working w/money, balancing a cash drawer, operating a multi-line switchboard and making PA announcements and radio announcements. Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
Rides & Attractions
Splash Park Attendant — Crowd control, water quality testing, public safety, cleanliness of the park, and CPR/1st Aid Certified. Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
Rides & Attractions Operator — Operates trams, carousel, cart shuttles and Ropes Course; inspections & cleanliness of all attractions. Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and possess a valid driver’s license.
Minimum wage is $13.00 hourly (Unless specified)

Employee Requirements
- Customer service must be a priority to applicant applying

- Seeking candidates with primarily daytime availability
- Must be flexible to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Some jobs require a valid driver’s license
- Some Positions require CPR / First Aide Certification, which is provided by the Zoo.
Uniforms
Uniform Shirts are provided by the Zoo; however uniform pants and or shorts must be purchased at your expense before date of employment.
