Cochran students watch sea lion

School at the Zoo: Cochran Day Four

Cochran students in Ms. Karen’s group visited Glacier Run on Thursday where they discussed “Biomimicry” or how engineers turn to nature for inspiration for their designs.  They also watched bear and sea lion training.  They were visited by a chinchilla and a gecko in the classroom. Check out this video of the sea lion visiting with the students!

Ms. Wanda’s group learned about producers and consumers today. They compared the teeth of a cheetah to the teeth of giraffe and even took a look at a shark’s jaw.  On their Zoo walk they saw giraffes, bongos, and lions. Later in the day the students took a trip to the commissary kitchen where the Zoo prepares food for the animals.
