Following the devastating tornadoes in Western, KY on December 10, 2021, the Louisville Zoo offered families a way to donate to help animal organizations that were impacted. Thanks to the generosity of Louisville Zoo guests and fans, the Zoo is happy to announce that $2,550 each was sent to the Kentucky Humane Society shelters in Marion and Caldwell counties earlier this spring. The Louisville Zoo’s Friday movie night series, Cinema Safari presented by Great Clips, returns. [BS1] The series launches on July 15 with National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (PG-13) and continues two weeks later on July 29 with Elf (PG). Both movies are part of the Zoo’s new Santa’s Summer Safari event series. Then, return on August 12 with A Bug’s Life (G) and finish up the summer with Encanto (PG) on September 9. Find Out More
A new seasonal attraction is flying into the Zoo! “IncrediBUGS,” presented by Great Clips, opens June 25 and runs through September 18, 2022. The exhibit, free with Zoo admission or membership, features 18 enormous animatronic bugs and insects, bringing into epic proportions the fascinating world of these small intricate creatures. The Louisville Zoo is saddened to announce the stillborn birth of a male Masai giraffe calf to Kianga. The calf was delivered stillborn at 2:52 p.m. on Thursday, June 22, after two and a half hours of active labor. Find Out More
The Louisville Zoo is mourning the loss of Emmy, a seven-week-old harbor seal pup born on April 29, 2022, at the Zoo. Emmy passed away on Monday, June 20. Find Out More
