The Louisville Zoo invites you to seize the last chance to experience the mesmerizing Wild Lights festival! Running Thursday through Sunday nights, this popular lantern festival concludes this Sunday, June 16. With the weather forecast predicting beautiful conditions for the weekend, it’s the perfect opportunity to enjoy this outdoor evening event.
Wild Lights has been described as Louisville’s premier springtime lights attraction, and this year’s displays are brighter and more breathtaking than ever. Guests can wander through the Zoo’s 1.4-mile path and marvel at the hand-crafted illuminated art displays. This year’s event features more than 60 individual displays, including highlights like the blooming morning glory corridor, a 23-foot-tall octopus and a walk-through phoenix tunnel. Interactive lanterns allow visitors to engage with the displays by powering lantern movements and competing in games.
In addition to the stunning lanterns, Wild Lights offers nightly performances on the MetaZoo stage. Enjoy live shows featuring traditional Chinese performances, including the amazing lightning-fast mask changes of Sichuan Opera and other unforgettable acrobatic acts. Unique handcrafted goods will also be available for purchase. Food and drink highlights include a Crab Rangoon Burger with Asian Street Fries, Spring Rolls, Asian Pear Sangria and Spiked Spiced Chai.
The festival is wheelchair and stroller-friendly on a paved path and is held rain or shine from 7 – 10 p.m. Thursday through Sunday nights.
