Sunni takes on Groundhog Day!

Join us on Facebook Live as we celebrate Groundhog Day with a Zoo twist! Our arboreal weather forecaster, Sunni the sloth, will decide if there are six more weeks of winter based on her hammock activities. If Sunni climbs out of her resting spot, we will have an early spring — If she doesn’t, we will have six more weeks of winter.

Learn fascinating facts about sloths from our education staff! For example, did you know the Linnaeus’s two-toed sloth is named after the “father of modern taxonomy,” Carl Linnaeus, who was also the first person to scientifically describe groundhogs?
