Favorite childhood memory of the Louisville Zoo?
I attended Audubon Elementary and because of its close proximity; we took a field trip to the Zoo every year. The Zoo was always one of my favorite trips, where we always enjoyed seeing the exotic animals and eating our lunch outside.

Favorite memory you have about the Louisville Zoo as an adult?
My wife, Amanda, and I dressed up our then 2-year-old daughter for a Halloween stroll through the Zoo. The photos of her walking around in her little Minnie Mouse outfit, with amazement in her eyes, are some of my favorites pictures.

Favorite animal?
Lion — their strength and power are amazing

Why you think the Zoo is important for the community?
The Zoo has always been one of the premier destinations in the city. It’s so important because it brings to life what you may read or see on a screen. For kids (and adults) to actually experience the magnificent animals up close is invaluable. I believe the Zoo helps remind everyone there’s a big, beautiful world outside of their day-to-day life.
