Event locations
Oasis Tent & Field
One of the area’s largest open-air tents can accommodate 450 seated guests and thousands for a private picnic. The field area around the tent is four acres. It is perfect for a variety of field games, tents, festivals, and trade shows. In addition to the field, there is a band shell.
Hillside Gazebo
This open-air picnic facility provides a gorgeous view overlooking Waterfowl Lake. Accommodating up to 100 guests, this facility is ideal for a secluded picnic in a relaxing natural setting.
Gheens Room
Our largest indoor space accommodates up to 130 guests, is located in the lush Islands Exhibit and features a private view of our tropical forest aviary. Perfect for a banquet, meeting, party, or other indoor gathering.
Treetops Room
This indoor space accommodates up to 20 guests and is located in the lush Islands Exhibit and features a private view of our dayroom. Perfect for a small meeting or party.
African Outpost & Deck
A tasteful and highly themed facility. The African Outpost accommodates up to 175 guests and features luxurious landscaping, authentic African art, and a scenic wrap-around patio.
African Outpost Board Room
A small and secluded board room apart from the African Outpost is great for parties of 12 guests or less. Perfect for a business meeting or lunch. Not far from food in the restaurant and surrounded by scenic views and exhibits.
Glacier Run Classroom
A fun and exciting environment to host any type of event. From small banquets to business meetings this classroom can seat up to 45 guests. Get a full experience by watching all the bears up close in their exhibits while enjoying the view.
Snow Leopard Classroom
This classroom can seat up to 30 guests. With a full view of the leopard’s exhibit, guests can indulge and have a fantastic experience. Perfect for small parties!
Animal Areas
Islands
Transport your guests to a remote Indonesian Village all without leaving Louisville! This multi- exhibit habitat will intrigue your guests & have them talking for years to come. This exhibit is perfect for cocktail hours (300 guests maximum) and is only available after Zoo hours.
Gorilla Forest
This multi-faceted exhibit immerses you into the world of gorillas – You are in the gorilla’s realm. This exhibit is perfect for cocktail hours (300 guests maximum) and is only available after Zoo hours.
Glacier Run
Immerse your guests in an imaginary gold mining town on the edge of the artic wilderness as Polar & Grizzly Bears climb cliffs or dig in pits that contain a variety of interesting items. Not to outshine, the playful seals & sea lions will swim through the water & will have your guests mesmerized. This exhibit is perfect for cocktail hours (200 guests maximum) & is only available after Zoo hours.
African Savanna
Lions, Elephants, & Zebras, Oh My! Stun your guests as they are surrounded by animals of the African Savanna while they simultaneously enjoy views of the setting sun. This exhibit is perfect for cocktail hours (200 guests maximum) and is only available after Zoo hours.

Host your company’s outing at the Zoo after we’ve closed for the day. Based on your guest count, we’ll keep portions, or all of the Zoo open exclusively for your guests!
