Weekly Zoo Update 7/28

The Louisville Zoo Splash Park will be closed until further notice to replace the rubberized flooring that was damaged during the season. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and are working to reopen the area as soon as possible.

Conservation News

Last week, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) officially added the migratory monarch butterfly to its Red List of Threatened Species as endangered.

The Louisville Zoo is dedicated to helping pollinators like monarchs. Our grounds are home to pollinator gardens, monarch waystations, and even a seasonal exhibit where you can learn about native butterflies — Butterflies n’ Blooms! Learn more about butterflies and ways you can help them including updating your own garden.
