On Friday November 4th we wrapped up our last day with Roosevelt Perry elementary with a walk to our Gorilla Forest exhibit. Students spent the morning observing our primates eat, sleep and interact. They also had the opportunity to see meerkats and naked mole rats as well.
We spent the day discussing how the students can help nature in a big way. They shared their ideas about how the Zoo’s mission helps the planet as well. Students continued work on their animal inspired designs. The students worked to pinpoint what challenges they face from the time they wake up until the time they go to bed and tried to imagine an invention that could help make their lives easier.
The students stopped by our Islands exhibit to get a special keeper talk from our orangutan zoo keeper and we wrapped up our day with a ride on the carousel!
