Are you ready to meet a sloth? The sloth experience at the Louisville Zoo is your chance to get an up-close encounter with our Linnaeus’s two-toed sloth, Sunni!
Your experience includes:
- The opportunity to participate with Zoo staff in preparing sloth diets
- A talk with our keepers about the sloths and their care at the Zoo
- Photo opportunities with Sunni or Sebastian
- An up-close encounter with Sunni inside her indoor habitat
*Sloth tours are available for all persons aged 6 or older. Guests under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian with them on the tour with a separate ticket. All activities are subject to animal participation. Please note that the sloth experience may be ended without refunds at any time if guests do not follow staff instructions. This experience is non-refundable and non-exchangeable as most dates are sold out. Masks are required for the entirety of the experience.

Sloth Experiences dates vary (Thursdays – Sundays) but start at 1:30 p.m. Guests must purchase tickets at least 24 hours in advance and arrive at the MetaZoo stage no later than 1:20 p.m. to begin their tour promptly at 1:30 p.m. Guests not at the location 1:30 p.m. may forfeit their experience.
Each sloth experience is limited to five (5) guests per session. Guests who do not purchase all 5 tickets may have other guests accompanying them on their experience. Sloth tours are available for all persons aged 6 or older. Guests under the age of 18 will have to have a parent or guardian accompany them on the tour with a separate ticket. Infants in arms, toddlers or any children under age 6 will not be admitted. The sloth experience is accessible.
Sloth experiences last approximately 30 – 45 minutes long. Guests are expected to be at the MetaZoo Stage no later than 1:20 p.m. to begin their tour promptly at 1:30 p.m. Guests not at the location by 1:30 p.m. may forfeit their experience. The estimated time to get from the parking lot to the MetaZoo is around 10 – 15 minutes depending on the day.
Sloth Experiences are $90 per ticket. They are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. All tours are limited to five (5) individuals and each must purchase a ticket to participate. These tickets do not include Zoo admission. An admission ticket is required for guests who are not members. These general admission tickets may be purchased online in advance or on the day of your experience at the admission windows.
Currently, only our Linnaeus’s two-toed sloth Sunni will be available during sloth experiences. All activities in the sloth experience are subject to Sunni’s approval. But we may be introducing Sebastian to his fans in the near future.
Sloth experiences are rain or shine and will not be canceled unless there is an extreme weather event.
