Help us spread awareness about the plight of orangutans!
The M.O.M. (Missing Orangutan Mothers) Campaign pays tribute to orangutan mothers and also helps bring attention to the crisis red apes are facing globally, encouraging people to do their part to raise awareness and funds to protect them.
The campaign focuses on the growing demand for palm oil, resulting in the destruction of rainforest habitat and the loss of orangutan mothers, particularly on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra. This results in orphaned baby orangutans being left to fend for themselves. Orangutans typically spend 11 years with their mothers learning everything they can about their rainforest home. Without this wealth of knowledge, young orangutans don’t have the skills necessary to sustain themselves and will die.
By spreading awareness about the critical need for everyone to make sustainable purchasing choices, we can all make a difference in the lives of orangutans and help save these precious apes from extinction.
