Although some clients of Service Systems Associates (SSA) were recently a victim of a data security breach, the Louisville Zoo confirms that it was not affected.

The data security breach occurred in the point of sale system used in the gift shops of some of SSA’s clients between March 23 and June 25, 2015.  The Louisville Zoo does not use the point of sale affected and was not impacted.

SSA notified the credit card companies of this breach.  The Louisville Zoo has recently learned that as a standard precautionary measure, and because a list of affected sites was not available to them, some local financial institutions are replacing credit and debit cards for customers who used them during this time at the gift shop at the Louisville Zoo.  The Louisville Zoo’s customers were not impacted by the SSA breach.
