Louisville Zoo Celebrates National Zookeeper Week July 20-26

The Louisville Zoo will celebrate National Zookeeper Week July 20-26 and will culminate with Zookeeper Day on July 26. Each day will feature an animal with special enrichment activities and keeper talks in that animal area.  Zoo docents will also be on hand providing interpretation and answering questions each day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

On Saturday, July 26, guests can enjoy multiple animal activities through the day with five interactive stations teaching guests about different types of animal enrichment. Stations include: scents, foraging, training, puzzle feeders and a take home enrichment for our pets station. There will also be a “So you want to be a zookeeper” talk at 11 a.m. in the Glacier Run classroom.
