Do guests have to be finished and leave the Party by 8:30 p.m.?
Guests can enter UNTIL 8:30 p.m. to start their Party experience. The Zoo’s trick-or-treat route will close at 10 p.m.
What about rain or cold weather?
This is a rain or shine event. The cast and crew will be in place to greet you no matter the weather. Bring rain or cold-weather gear. A limited number of rain ponchos and other clothing items will be available for sale at the main gift shop.
Can you see the animals during the Halloween Party?
Visit some of our late-night party animals (weather permitting). You are most likely to see maned wolves, bongos, and rhinos. Many of the animals will not typically be on exhibit in the evenings so they can rest and maintain their regular schedule.
Is the Halloween Party held on Halloween night?
No, the last night of the Party is Sunday, October 27.
Do regular daytime Zoo hours change?
Yes. On Party nights, the Zoo gates close early at 3 p.m. for daytime visitors (instead of 4 p.m.) Guests have until 4 p.m. (instead of 5 p.m.) to visit. Guests must exit at 4 p.m. to allow the Event Team time to prepare for the event. The gates reopen at 5 p.m. for the Party.
Is smoking permitted?
No. For the safety of our guests, smoking (including e-cigarettes) is prohibited anywhere on Zoo grounds during this after-hours event.
Do kids have to wear costumes?
Kids are encouraged to wear costumes to enhance the experience but they are certainly not required.
Can adults wear costumes?
Adults may wear costumes, but we ask that they be family friendly (not scary please). Since this event caters to small children, adults may NOT wear masks that cover the face. The Zoo reserves the right to ask adults to remove masks.
Is there off-site parking or Zoo shuttle?
There is NO off-site parking or Zoo shuttle this year. Be sure not to park in the old Kmart parking lot or you may be towed.

Are gift shops and concessions open?
Yes, the main gift shop and some event stands are open and will sell fun glow items, cloth trick-or-treat bags, festive hats and more. Members get 10% off select items. Concession stands (not African Outpost) are open and selling snacks and beverages including Spookies and Cream Dippin’ Dots and funnel cakes. Members get a 10% discount.
Are strollers and wheelchairs available for rental?
Yes, the Louisville Zoo rents strollers, wagons and wheelchairs (limited number) from the front plaza. Motorized wheelchairs are available in limited number during the Halloween Event, but only if reserved in advance. For more information and prices, click here.

How can I get a ticket that allows me flexibility on the night I attend?

May I get a refund or exchange my ticket for another date if my child becomes ill or something comes up?
Sorry, we cannot exchange or refund tickets for this important Zoo fundraiser.
Are there any discount tickets available anywhere?
Yes, a limited number of advance discount tickets ($8.50) will be available at participating area Meijer stores as of Sept. 23 while supplies last. Click here for store locations. Corporate Ticket Club member employees can purchase discounted (night specific) tickets online. Groups of 15 or more can buy discounted tickets online (night specific); groups of 50 or more or tax-exempt organizations should call (502) 238-5348. Do Louisville Zoo members receive special pricing?

Do I need to bring my membership card and photo ID even though I used my ID number to buy my ticket online?
Yes, we reserve the right to check member cards and photo IDs at the gate. See Member FAQs for more general member details.
Why do I need to get a ticket online for discounted member nights and select a specific night and time?
We found that timed tickets help reduce over-crowding and improve the quality and safety of the guest experience. A limited number of tickets will be available for each evening’s time slot. Reminder: $2 tickets are only available online and only valid the night they are purchased for from Oct. 3–6 and 10–13. See other ticket options.
Can I attend more than one night?
With such a large member base, we invite each family to attend one night during the first 2 weeks for just $2 and encourage members to come back during the next two weeks at half price ($6 online and at the gate) to support this important fundraiser even more. Try coming back later in the evening at the end of October to enjoy the dramatic lighting and magical atmosphere.
How many discount tickets can I purchase?
You can purchase tickets for the number of people covered on your membership card. We reserve the right to check membership cards and photo IDs at the gate.
I have a membership to a reciprocal Zoo, how will that work?
We do not accept reciprocal memberships for admission for after hours or special fee-based events. Exception: we do have a special arrangement with the Cincinnati Zoo for half-priced tickets for the Halloween Party —available at the gate the night of the event only with member card and ID.
We normally park for free as members. Is it also free for the Halloween Party?
Although parking is included with your membership for regular Zoo hours, it is not included for special after-hours fundraising events like the Halloween Party. A $5 parking fee per car will be collected (cash only) when you enter the lot as in past years. We do not sell parking tickets in advance as the lot can fill up during peak times. Parking spaces are first-come, first-park.
Can Zoo members bring a guest?
Yes, but Member guests pay full price. You can purchase these full-priced extra guest tickets at the same time you purchase your online discount tickets. See all the Ticket Options.
Is there a separate Zoo member entrance?
No. All visitors enter through the main gate. Members make up the majority of our party guests.
I have some rides included in my regular membership package. Are my rides included or at a discount for the Party?
Because this is an after-hours special event fundraiser for the Zoo, rides and attractions are not included and are an additional cost for all participants.
Are there any attraction discounts?
All rides/attractions are the full price for all members and non-members during this after-hours fundraiser. All attractions are seasonal and subject to the cooperation of weather, animals and Zoo maintenance.
What if I can’t pick a night in advance? Are there other ticket options?
Meijer is selling a limited number of discounted “any night” tickets for $8.50 or you can purchase $6 member tickets at the Zoo on any event night (based on availability.) See options.
Can adults trick-or-treat?
Trick-or-treating is reserved for kids 11 and under.
How many times can we go through the treat route?
You may go through the trick-or-treat route one time at your leisure.
Should children bring their own trick-or-treat bags?
Yes, please help us be green and bring your own bags. If you forget a bag, you can purchase a cloth bag at the Zoo Gift Shop on the main plaza for $2.
Do any of the treats you give out contain peanuts?
