Friday Night Movie Night Featuring: “Despicable Me 2”
Field opens at 6 p.m., movie begins at sundown in the Oasis Field
Enjoy a fun family movie under the stars at the Zoo! Movie nights are free to Zoo members and a special admission of $5 after 5 p.m. for non-members includes pre-movie activities, games and Zoo exhibits open until dusk. Be sure to bring your blankets and lawn chairs; snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. Additional support by Subway and Kentucky Education Savings Plan Trust.

Ford’s Fathers Day
Celebrate Father’s Day at the Louisville Zoo with free general admission for fathers courtesy of Ford Motor Company.
June 21
World Giraffe Day
Celebrate World Giraffe Day with keeper talks at the giraffe feedings at 11:30 a.m. & 2:30 p.m. Keepers will be on hand with biofacts and giraffe facts at an information table near the giraffe house. Kids can even take home a coloring page.
WAKY Rock ‘N’ Roll Reunion Concert
1 p.m. in the Oasis Field
Get ready for a trip back in time as the best of the 60s and 70s Louisville bands get together for one huge concert at the Oasis Field presented by WAKY radio. This year’s Reunion will be in memory of “Cosmo.” Bands include: Caribou, The Epics, The Doo Wop All Stars, Crushed Velvet, Sherry Edwards with Alan Watson and the Tymes Band, The Wulfe Brothers with Gary Edwards and Elvis Impersonator Don Goodfleisch. Guests may bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating. No tents or canopies allowed. No alcoholic beverages or glass bottles permitted, but concessions will be available. The concert is free with your Zoo admission or Louisville Zoo membership. Limited VIP tickets are available for $35 and include a reserved covered seating area and chair (near stage, off-center), Zoo admission and parking plus a special 10% discount on food, retail and non-alcoholic beverages in concert area and more. The VIP tickets are available at louisvillezoo.org in advance or at the Zoo day of the concert based on availability.
Papa John’s Splash Park is now open
Summer fun has begun at the Louisville Zoo with the reopening of Papa John’s Splash Park. This nautically-themed water play area features a fishing boat for kids to climb, dump buckets and mini water slides – over 40 ways to get wet – so kids can get as wet as they want. Papa John’s Splash Park is free with Zoo admission or Zoo membership and is open daily now through Labor Day (weather-permitting). It closes 30 minutes before the Zoo closes each evening. Louisville Zoo members can participate in member-only mornings on weekdays in June and July from 10-11 a.m.
Summer Twilight Hours
Extended summer Twilight Hours in June and July allow families to spend more time at the Louisville Zoo during the cooler part of the day. The Zoo will be open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings in June and July until 7 p.m. (stay until 8 p.m.). NOTE: There will be no extended hours Saturday, June7 due to the Zoo’s annual fundraiser Zoofari! The Zoo will close at 2 p.m. (exit by 3 p.m.) this day.
