Join the conversation! Connect with ecology and wildlife conservation to critically explore a variety of environmental and conservation issues. Each month participants will receive a discussion guide (including book, film, and podcast recommendations!) and access to a 60-minute live virtual discussion with Zoo educators. We hope to include your whole family in a fascinating conversation on conservation topics each month.
This program is for adults, 18+. Younger readers may participate at their parents/guardians’ discretion based on media selections.
Do you have a favorite female scientist? Join us in learning about three amazing scientific women and the field they pioneered as we read “Primates: The Fearless Science of Jane Goodall, Dian Fossey, and Biruté Galdikas” written by Jim Ottaviani and illustrated by Maris Wicks. This nonfiction graphic novel gives an excellent introduction into the lives and careers of these three pioneering primatologists. Our book discussion is designed for adults only — but the reading guide included in the program cost will offer media suggestions and discussion questions suitable for children.
Joining us for a Q&A session is Maris Wicks, amazing science communicator and graphic artist!
