October 26, 2022 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Conservation and Conversations Banner with girl and laptop

FREE TO REGISTER! Connect with the Zoo  as we critically explore a variety of environmental and conservation issues. Participants will receive a discussion guide (including book, film, and podcast recommendations!) and access to a 60-minute live virtual discussion with Zoo educators. Join in on the discussion as we engage community members of all ages about conservation topics that are affecting the way we live in Louisville and how people live around the globe. Some sessions will feature guest speakers. View previous discussion guides here.

Decomposition is an important part of the life cycle of our planet. Human decomposition plays a role just like the decomposition of any other animal or plant — but it is often stopped by the way humans choose to bury our dead. Our conservation conversation this month will focus on green burial and the way our funeral traditions have changed over time to bring us closer to or further away from nature.
