Conservation and Conversations – “Eager: The Surprising Secret Life of Beavers and Why They Matter” by Ben Goldfarb

June 23, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

A virtual event. Cost: $10 per device.

Join the conversation! Connect with ecology and wildlife conservation to critically explore a variety of environmental and conservation issues. Each month participants will receive a discussion guide (including book, film, and podcast recommendations!) and access to a 60-minute live virtual discussion with Zoo educators. We hope to include your whole family in a fascinating conversation on conservation topics each month.

This program is for adults, 18+. Younger readers may participate at their parents/guardians’ discretion based on media selections.

Where did all the beavers go? Join us in reading “Eager: The Surprising Secret Life of Beavers and Why They Matter” by environmental journalist Ben Goldfarb to find out what happened to the beavers and why that matters to our ecosystems. Get ready to learn all about trophic cascades and what a keystone species really is. Our book discussion is designed for adults only — but the reading guide included in the program cost will offer media suggestions and discussion questions suitable for children.

*Book available through LFPL or wherever books are sold
