This year, the Louisville Zoo’s wildest 5K in town — Throo the Zoo presented by Norton Audubon Hospital — will be run virtually only. The Zoo has canceled this year’s in-person portion in an abundance of caution and following the recommendations of Kentucky Governor Beshear to postpone events in response to Kentucky’s red-state status from increased cases of COVID-19.

The virtual race allows participants an opportunity to complete the 5K distance at their own pace on a date, time and course of their choosing before November 30, 2020. Participants will be sent information about drive-thru packet pick up at the Zoo to receive items included with their registration including an admission ticket for a future visit to the Louisville Zoo during regular hours, a commemorative medal and more.

Race Swag

This year’s TTZ shirt and medal incorporate the Louisville Zoo’s newest addition: the two-toed sloth! All participants will receive a sloth spinner medal and can purchase a cotton race T-shirt (with the opportunity to upgrade to the tech version of the shirt).
