Rain is NOT considered inclement weather. The Louisville Zoo is an outdoor facility with some indoor buildings and remains open rain or shine. Please dress for the weather.
Groups can reschedule for true inclement weather (snow, ice, severe weather) by emailing notice of cancellation to Zoo Education and resubmitting an online registration form with new dates. We will not be able to guarantee a date until after you have received confirmation. Please note that spring dates fill up quickly and may be at capacity. Rescheduled dates must meet reservation requirements or be charged the Walk-up rate of $10 per person (and applicable tax).
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Cancellations are accepted at any time in writing by emailing Zoo Education. No cancellations will be accepted by phone except in the event of an emergency.
Reservations that are canceled without rescheduling at the time of cancellation will need to be resubmitted online with new dates. We will not be able to guarantee a date until after you have received confirmation. Please note that spring dates fill up quickly and may be at capacity. Rescheduling (without cancellation) can be done by emailing Zoo Education at any time. Dates are subject to availability and some circumstances are subject to the Walk-up rate of $10 per person (plus applicable tax).
Can I get a refund if I cancel?
If fewer students participate than expected, you will still be responsible for payment for the students that could not attend. You may request a reimbursement only if you’ve over paid by a minimum of $100. Please request the necessary form from Zoo Admissions and allow 4-6 weeks for processing. A $25 service fee will be applied. Any overpayment less than $100 will not be refunded.
Can I pre-purchase tickets?
If your group chooses to purchase train, carousel or any other attraction tickets, please contact Admission (502) 459-2181 the day of your scheduled visit to ensure attractions are operating. Tickets can be purchased at the front ticket windows upon your arrival.
We do not offer ANY prepaid/early pick-up ticket options, whether for admission or attractions. All purchases are made at the time of your arrival, with the exception of prepaid field trip reservations.
