Who are Virtual Animal Adventures for?
Virtual Animal Adventures are for any group (school, youth group, family, scout troop, etc.) that is interested in a personalized program.
Who are Virtual Animal Events for?
Virtual Animal Events are perfect for youth-adults who have an interest in and a love or passion for animals and science. We offer a variety of programs and themes for various ages – please check the event details for specific information regarding age levels.
How do I register for a virtual program?

Are your virtual sessions live or pre-recorded?
While some of the content you will view during your session will be pre-recorded, all our virtual events are live! You will talk to Zoo Education staff in real time, and see our small animal ambassadors up close.
How long will the session last?
Virtual Animal Adventures includes 2, 30-minute sessions with your group. Upon registration, you will be contacted by Zoo Education staff to set up times/dates that work for you. Virtual Animal Events occur at a set time and typically 30-60 minutes.
How many people can attend?
Virtual Animal Adventures are limited to 30 participants. Virtual Animal Events are unlimited and are priced by device.
Will I see any animals?
Yes! All virtual programming includes up close viewing of our small ambassador animals such as our owls, chinchillas and armadillos. Virtual Animal Events take place in the Zoo’s animal areas and may have views of animals from around the Zoo.
How do I participate in a live session?
Instructions for joining our Virtual Animal Events will be sent to you in advance of your program. Virtual Animal Adventure details will be coordinated with you prior to your scheduled date.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my Virtual Animal Adventure?
Cancellations are accepted at any time in writing by emailing Zoo Education. No cancellations will be accepted by phone except in the event of an emergency.
Reservations that are canceled without rescheduling at the time of cancellation will need to be resubmitted online. If you are cancelling a Virtual Animal Adventure, you will need to provide us with new dates. We will not be able to guarantee a date until after you have received confirmation. Please note that dates may fill up quickly and could be at capacity. Rescheduled dates must meet reservation requirements.
Rescheduling (without cancellation) can be done by emailing Zoo Education at any time. Dates are subject to availability.
Can I get a refund if I cancel my Virtual Animal Adventure?
Due to limited capacity for programs, we are unable to provide refunds for our virtual Animal Adventure. We will do our best to reschedule the program for a time that works best for your group.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my Virtual Animal Event?
If you are unable to participate in the Virtual Animal Event, you may notify us by emailing Zoo Education. Due to the nature of the program, refunds cannot be issued, but your registration can be moved to a future Virtual Animal Event.
When will in-person programming like field trips and outreach programs return?
In-person programming like our field trip and outreach programs are suspended due to COVID-19, check back periodically as we hope to bring these programs back in the future. Are Job Shadowing Opportunities Available?
At this time, we are not scheduling individual job shadowing opportunities. We will introduce a new program for high school students interested in learning more about careers in zoological, veterinary, environmental sciences, and other related fields soon.
