Current construction projects

The Splash Park is currently closed for renovations to replace the rubberized flooring that was damaged during the summer season. We hope to have more information to share in the near future. Check louisvillezoo.org/today for status updates on rides and attractions.

Black-Footed Ferret
  • Our macaw exhibit in the Americas portion of the Zoo got a facelift! Stop by in late 2022 to see a whole new exhibit space for macaws Newman and Roxanne across from the jaguar exhibit. Macaw Sapphira will remain in the indoor Islands Bird Trail.
  • Recently, the Zoo replaced the roof on the meerkat and molerat exhibits. Their exhibits were closed to the public for about a month, but the meerkats are now once again viewable in their outdoor space (weather permitting). While the indoor viewing tunnel is currently closed, guests can look forward to watching the meerkats and molerats explore their enclosed habitats again in December 2022.
