Origin
Native to areas of eastern Africa, Madagascar, eastern Asia and the Philippines.

Habitat
This deciduous shrub grows in almost any soil that has good drainage. Grows best in areas of full sun.

Growth Nature
The chastetree is a multi-stemmed shrub that can grow between 10 to 15 ft. tall, and sometimes bigger in warmer areas. On average it ranges from 3 to 10 ft. tall with a spread of about 3 to 8 ft. In cooler climates it tends to grow 3 to 5 ft. and act as a woody perennial which dies back in winter. Blooming takes place in July and August. Over 200 species of this plant exist.
