The Roaring 20's

The Roaring 1920s... a time when the music fast and fun.  Prohibition was at its peak and people were finding ways to liven up their entertainment.

On June 14, The Louisville Zoo transported itself back to the 1920s to reminisce about the good times of yester year.  Zoofari! 2008 brought back the Roaring 20s with its festive decorations, dancing, and dinner guests who donned their most elegant flapper dresses and dapper tuxedo attire and came out to savor the 'Citrus Flapper,' another fabulous drink created exclusively for this event by long-time presenting sponsor Brown-Forman.  Zoofari! added in its own flair with the ever popular Silent and Live Animal Auctions, which capped off the evening with the auctioning of a day with the Louisville Zoo's own Executive Director, John Walczak. Guests also enjoyed unique behind the scenes animal experiences thanks to the wonderful and always educational Zoo volunteers—our Docents. It’s just another example of how the Louisville Zoo is bettering the bond between people and our planet.
