Rides & Attractions

Tickets are available at the Train/Tram Station in season (through October 2013) or at the front cashier windows off-season (November through mid-March). Tickets are required for guests age 3 and older unless otherwise noted.  One ticket is required for each ride/attraction experience. (Some restrictions apply to rides.)

Train (Coming late spring/early summer.  Check back for updates)

Two new trains will give families a chance to take a trip around the Zoo. Tickets will be available on the Main Plaza at the Train/Tram Station. Train boards only at Main Train Station.

 

4-D Theater

The 4-D Theater features 3-D projection, surround-sound audio and exciting special effects that fully immerse audiences in all the action. Fifty (50) comfortable (non-moving) 4-D seats are imbedded with special effects like neck air, leg ticklers and more. Plus there's lots of in-theater special effects and surprises! The 4-D Theater is currently presenting several popular experiences: NEW Ice Age™: Dawn of the Dinosaurs-The 4-D Experience and Planet Earth: Ice Worlds 4-D Experience.

Conservation Carousel

Take a ride on this beautiful antique carousel, located near the main plaza. Purchase tickets at the carousel. If the child is too young to ride alone, the child needs a ticket but the parent rides free (when supporting the child).

ZooTram Shuttle

Travel in comfort and in style when you ride the ZooTram Shuttle. It makes several stops along the route for visitors to disembark or re-board.

Zoo Keys

Activate the story boxes located throughout the Zoo with your ZooKey available at gift shops and concession stands for just $4. (Visit any one of our Gift Shops for details.) 

Lorikeet Landing

Feed nectar to the beautifully-colored Lorikeets located at Lorikeet Landing in the Australian area. Nectar is $2 per cup and is available for purchase at the exhibit.

Fun photos, wild Handimals hand art, fabulous face painting and more.


Free Activities:

Papa John's Splash Park - Opens Daily Memorial Day Weekend (weather permitting)

The naturally themed water play area has 42 unique ways for kids to get as wet as they want! It includes a fishing boat to climb on, dump buckets, jelly jet launchers, mini water slides and much more. Designed with safe family fun in mind, it's a really cool place to beat the heat. Member Mornings are weekdays in June and July, 10 - 11 a.m. Must show Zoo membership I.D.

Outpost Playground

Parents can relax while kids expend some of their endless energy at this playground with age-appropriate equipment. Located near the African Outpost Restaurant.

Billabong Playabout

Located in the Australian Outback Area near Lorikeet Landing and Wallaroo Walkabout. Kids will love all the age-appropriate fun equipment in the Billabong Playabout.

Boma African Petting Zoo

Located near the African Outpost Restaurant and elephant exhibit. Kids can pet, play and interact with animals with staff members close by and a fun hand washing station.
