Hours of Operation

The Louisville Zoo is open year-round. 
Closed only on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Days. 

September - February: 
10:00 am - 4:00 pm (exit by 5:00 p.m.)

March - Labor Day: 
10:00 am - 5:00 pm (exit by 6:00 p.m.)

Summer Evening Hours
Check back in early 2010 for extended hour for 2010.

Zoo Membership / Frequent Fun Pass
Your best value is a Zoo Membership (season pass) starting at $49 for Individual, $69 for Individual Plus, $79 for Family, $109 for Family Plus and $148 for Dual Family Membership to the Zoo and Louisville Science Center.  Click here for more Membership Information.

Rides and Attractions
Tickets available at Train/Tram Station and some ride/attraction locations in season (March-Oct.); or front cashier windows and at the ride locations off-season (Nov.-Feb.)

Ride Package: Includes 4-D Ride & unlimited carousel rides and ZooTram Shuttle  - $7.50   ($7 members)  

ZooTram Shuttle - $2.00  (
Receive a wristband that allows you travel for the entire day)
Tram to the Top - $1.00 Tram service (one ride) from Rainbow Springs Station up to the hill to the Front Plaza Station. 

Carousel - $1.50 
9-Ride Carousel Pack - $10.95
The Carousel does not run when temperatures are below 45 degrees. Weather conditions permitting.

4-D Ride - $5 ($4 members)

Sky Trail ® High Adventure Course  - $7 per person ($6.25 members)
Opens March 20 (Tickets available only at the Sky Trail entrance)

Wheelchair (non-motorized) - $8

(We have a limited number of wheelchairs that are available on a first come - first served basis.)

Wheelchair (motorized) - $26 

(We have 4 motorized wheelchairs/scooters. They may be reserved in advance with a major credit card for a fee of $31 by calling 502-238-5364.  A drivers' license/photo ID is required to finalize the rental at the Zoo.)

The Louisville Zoo accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express at all Admission Windows, gift shops and in the African Outpost restaurant. Discover Card is accepted at all admission windows also.

Zoo's Location
The Louisville Zoo is easy to find and just 15 minutes from downtown Louisville, KY, easily accessible from I-64 and I-65.  Take I-264 (Watterson Expressway) to Poplar Level Road exit #14 and travel north.  Follow the black and white zoo signs to 1100 Trevilian Way.
